Sheet Music is the first book in the Covert Attractions series from Ellora’s Cave. While it is *not* a suspense (Breathless TM) title, it does introduce characters and situations explored in subsequent books.
Music journalist Kyra Martin faces the toughest assignment of her career—to write a cover story about enigmatic heartthrob David Tallis. Deadline looming, Kyra plans to go undercover. When she ends up under the covers with the sexy superstar instead, can both her career and their budding relationship survive?
With a closet full of skeletons to hide, and a paparazzi-fueled divorce behind him, David Tallis despises the press. When Kyra Martin bribes her way into his life, her sexy assets have him composing a duplicitous seduction. Ensnared in a media maelstrom of his own making, can David face the music? Or will he lose Kyra, along with another piece of himself?

Justin James, designer extraordinaire, indulged me with this design of a fantasy book cover Krya imagines will accompany her story. The back is for a postcard I’ve had made of the design.

Wonder what the Rivoli Bar or other locations in the book look like? (Hint, they’re one part real, one part writer imagination.) You can see some photos that inspired me as I wrote on these web sites:
- Ritz Hotel London: They really do use old fashioned keys in their doors! And doesn’t the Rivoli Bar look scrumptious?
- Air Studios London: There are plenty of recording studios in old churches in London, apparently, but I used many of the pictures from Air Studios as my springboard for imagining Kyra and David’s recording session.
- The Red Lion pub near the Crown Passage off Pall Mall in London is a real place. There aren’t any high-backed snugs, but it looks cozy none-the-less!
Discover the tunes that helped inspire me as I wrote Sheet Music here. The description of the song David sings to Kyra in the studio was inspired by a particular song in this list. Can you guess which one?
